The Coordinator of Quality and Safety is responsible for the management of clinical/regulatory safety and quality adherence for all YNHHS Oncology sites. The Coordinator identifies opportunities to improve patient safety and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects and programs designed to reduce errors, improve processes, and to create mindfulness culture for patient safety all while adhering to the regulatory guidelines set for by TJC, ACR, DPH and other regulatory bodies.
1. Clinical Operations Management
1.1 Works collaboratively with all departmental personnel (physicians, physicists, therapists, site managers, dosimetrists, nurses, and secretaries) to ensure all departments operates according to regulatory policy.
2. Quality Assurance/CQI Program Management
2.1 Prioritizes patient safety by providing manager and staff level training on CQI.
3. Regulatory Affairs Management
3.1 Provides manager and staff-level training on regulatory and safety issues.
4. Continuing Education Program Management
4.1 Assesses learning needs of radiation therapist staff utilizing surveys, QA Program Results, advice from Radiation Oncologists, and new processes and procedures.
Associates degree in Radiation Therapy and a minimum of 5 years experience or a bachelor's degree in a healthcare or process improvement related field and a minimum of 3 years experience required.
Experience in process improvement, quality and safety.
