JOB TITLE: Revenue Management Cash Control Specialist I
LOCATION: Buckhorn Office Building
WORK SCHEDULE:Days (M-F; 8 hour shift between the hours of 5:00AM – 4:30PM with occasional weekends and no holidays)
WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE)
Works in the Cash Application Department to complete the necessary functions required to post hospital and professional cash for all hospitals and physicians within Geisinger Health System. Coordinates with Finance and other Revenue Cycle departments in order to generate sufficient cash flow to support GHS operations and strategic initiatives. Accurately and efficiently applies cash received from all third party insurance payers and patients based on information provided by the payer. Also applies all contractual allowances, other adjustments, denials, and offsets included in remittance advice received in mail correspondence or included in remittances linked to cash received. Maintains the ability to read and interpret remittance advice, identify correct information and errors, analyze accounts, correctly key payments to reduce AR, and identify various revenue enhancement and credit balance issues. Regularly takes part in research into unidentified cash and missing remittances, which would require correspondence with third parties over the phone, via secure email, and third party websites. Responsible for reconciliation/balancing functions for all manual and electronic payers on a daily basis, including reconciliation to the bank deposit. Occasional review of automated posting rules for newly acquired entities, newly automated payers and enhancements to current processes will also be required. The results of acquiring new hospitals and clinics may include a change in responsibilities and processes of Cash Application staff. Revenue Cycle Management goals require that all payments, adjustments, and denials are keyed within 72 hours of receipt.

Demonstrates familiarity with multiple computerized applications, i.e. Siemens, IDX, IDM Find/Tower, Excel, Microsoft Office, online 3rd party websites.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of Revenue Cycle functions and cash application or similar office setting is preferred.
Experience with insurances, providers, hospital and physicians including cash flow, billing, collection, cash application and customer service preferred.
Experience within a centralized business office of a financial institution.
