JOB TITLE: Graphic Design/Forms Control Supervisor LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital DEPARTMENT: Digital Print and Mail Center WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Assures consistent quality of print production by developing and enforcing good automated practice systems; validating processes; providing documentation and managing staff. Provides direct oversight to two functional, yet related, graphical design teams – Graphics and Forms Design. Coordinates graphical design activities associated with bringing a variety of client communication projects through various phases, including conceptualization, development and implementation, yielding innovative, cost effective and practical graphical design solutions. Demonstrates team building traits and presents a positive attitude toward providing mail and printing services to the entire organization Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Works under the direction of the Manager, Digital Print & Mail Center. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Proficient using professional graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Quark Express, MS Office applications, etc.) when developing solutions. Provides graphical and forms design consulting services, as needed. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Graphic Arts or related field required. Minimum 3 years of experience as a graphic arts designer using industry standard software (Adobe Creative Suites, Quark Express, InDesign, Publisher, et. Lead or supervisory experience on a design team preferred. OR Associates Degree in Business, Graphic Arts or related field required. Minimum 6 years of experience as a graphic arts designer using industry standard software (Adobe Creative Suites, Quark Express, InDesign, Publisher, et. Must have a demonstrated level of graphical design and layout skills, as well as a working knowledge of the printing industry. Copy / Offset Printing and/or Forms Management experience preferred. Project management experience preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and within a normal range of office temperature and noise levels. Physical effort is required, such as walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objectives weighing up to 20-lbs (papers, books, files, etc.). Moderate dexterity is required (using a keyboard, eye/hand coordination, etc.). May require local travel (between Geisinger locations). GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER: (GMC), located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
