JOB SUMMARY: Director Revenue Cycle Leadership
Vanderbilt University Medical Center Executive Search is conducting a national search for a Director, Revenue Cycle Process Improvement. This is a Leadership level role and requires extensive healthcare revenue cycle experience as well as process improvement, and billing compliance. Experience must include demonstrated accomplishments for technology-driven automated process improvements in a large-scale healthcare organization, exceptional change management skills, extensive system / operational integration. This role requires the ability to build relationships within the organization but maintain an uncompromising drive and sense of urgency to deliver results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the most effective operations of the department through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
- Research and implement Revenue Cycle Process Improvement - investigate software/automation solutions.
- Analyze and evaluate ongoing department programs to identify areas where adjustments/improvements are needed
- Initiate changes in or develop new policies, procedures and/or methods.
- Thorough understanding of compliance requirements and ensure that requirements utilize process mapping, analysis and technology tools to document functions and identify areas for improvement.
- Standardize services, processes, resources, and practice to improve efficiency.
- Design, implement, evaluate and market programs to maximize clinical outcomes, functional status, patient/customer satisfaction and reimbursement.
- Analyze long-range impact of decisions and plans.
- Utilize project management concepts to create timelines and ensure that milestones are met.
- Work with technology team for software implementations, enhancements and upgrades.
- Supervision to include responsibility for planning, coordinating, and controlling the work and procedures; provide advice/consultation to staff regarding problems
- Participate on departmental and/or interdepartmental committees to address problems and facilitate information exchange about programs, problems, etc. Provide information to others (oral or written) to explain/clarify problems, issues or requests.
- Prepare justification or develop alternatives for cost containment/reduction
- Create and exceed service standards utilizing key service dimension and from knowledge of patient/customer expectations and best practice.
- Model behavior consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the enterprise through leading, coordinating projects, innovation, initiating improvement, and developing new programs.
- Communicate within and across departments to maximize effectiveness, efficiently and information sharing.
- Adjust work schedules or project priorities to meet emergencies or changing conditions

Vanderbilt Medical Group Revenue Cycle Team
This team is responsible for the management of the revenue cycle for the Vanderbilt Medical Group. This consists of credentialing and enrolling providers, coding and charge capture of professional revenue, claims processing, collections, and customer service. The group has four primary divisions: Provider Support Services, VMG Business Office, Coding Services, and Physician Billing Services.
