JOB SUMMARY:

In your pivotal, exciting role as Sr. Communications Specialist in Creative Services, you will plan, write, edit, and develop communication materials for organizational uses independently.

The Office of Strategic Marketing at Vanderbilt Health is accepting applications for a Senior Communications Specialist. Applicants should have a college degree and 5 years of experience working as a paid video production professional. Advanced photography and editing skills and knowledge of production tools such as digital cinema cameras, audio and lighting equipment and editing applications required. Familiarity with commercial, documentary and news production workflows is preferred. Applicants should have strong visual storytelling skills and willingness to work as a part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as communications liaison and responsible for raising awareness of programs and initiatives to internal and external audiences.
• Develops and manages a marketing and/or communications strategy for departments and areas in conjunction with department leadership.
• Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of print and online content and provides technical direction in carrying out marketing plans.
• Serves as a project manager for strategic communication projects and campaigns.

DOCUMENTATION & WRITING SKILLS - (ADVANCED): - Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in applying patient relations documentation in challenging and complex situations. Often takes a lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to achieve results. Consistently delivers documentation services in a creative and imaginative manner while setting a standard for others. Actively participates in outside professional organizations and forums. Contributes in the development of documentation best practices for the organization.

NETWORKING (INTERMEDIATE): - Build relationships through industry contacts, professional organizations and individuals.
