Job Summary :
As a Principal PACS pplication Analyst for the Imaging Informatics team, the individual would be responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, performing the applications, systems, and administrative support of the PACS system along with other affiliated applications/systems as appropriate for VUMC and affiliated clinics. The Principal Application Analyst would also be highly involved in modality configurations, workflows, and coordination of such with the clinical engineering team. With hundreds of imaging modalities across the institution as well as continued expansion of VUMC, this principal position will be spend a large majority of his/her time re-shaping and developing the processes, inventorying, and when necessary the technical configurations for such modalities including the build of communications of these modalities with a DICOM router.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's HealthIT department seeks a qualified highly experienced (>10 years) Imaging Analyst to join the innovative imaging team. In any given year, VUMC performs over 900,000 imaging studies of which over 70,000 are performed within Cardiology. Key Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the 24x7 stability, integrity, user experience, and overall performance of the PACS systems to include associated application, devices and modalities that integrate with the PACS system.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot modalities and associated 3 rd party applications with the PACS systems such as configuring network configuration, modality worklist, and DICOM configurations.
- Utilizing both clinical and technical skillsets, the position would be responsible for developing, maintaining, troubleshooting as well as seeking opportunities to enhance clinical imaging workflows in collaboration with clinical operations.
- Must be willing to serve as a liaison between clinicians, vendors, and other IT teams utilizing strong professional communication, collaboration, clinical, and technical skills.
- Must be willing to serve as an escalation contact including assisting the team in providing immediate engagement of support issues related to the PACS. As the PACS system is utilized 24x7, candidate must be willing to provide after-hours on-call support as required by the department including weekends and holidays.
- Must remain current with industry imaging knowledge especially in relation to PACS and associated new trends and technologies and be able provide leadership with guidance in acquiring and implementing enhancements to the infrastructure as well as investments in new technologies remaining in alignment with clinical goals.
- Must be willing to be responsible for creating, configuring, and maintaining PACS system reports for purposes of daily PACS monitoring, audit reports, access usage, modality inventory, etc.
- Position would be responsible for developing, configuring, and maintaining with other IT teams and clinicians, diagnostic workstations for the PACS system to include developing and maintaining appropriate related documentation such as installation, troubleshooting, and inventory.
- Position requires project management skillsets with the abilities to plan and successfully execute projects related to the PACS system including new deployments, upgrades, and clinical expansion.
- Must have the abilities and experience to coordinate with the PACS vendor to oversee all new or existing DICOM migrations from various archiving systems across VUMC.
- Responsible for training clinical end users on PACS. The position would be responsible for develop online training courses and as well as the ability to facilitate in-person structured learning experiences.
- Designs, builds, installs, configures, and/or develops software to support clinical and operational workflows.
- Analyzes clinical or operational workflows supported by the assigned products and their relationship to the technical environment in which they operate.
- May perform analysis and design of supporting technical infrastructures.
- Supports clinical, revenue, or operational implementations for assigned products which may also include testing and QA, reporting, product life cycle, communication/collaboration with customers and vendors, and training users.
