Clinical Research Fellow - Research Colorectal Surgery - AdventHealth Orlando Location Address: 601 E. Rollins St., Orlando, FL 32801 Top Reasons to work at AdventHealth Orlando The Clinical Research Fellow will be part of the largest colorectal surgery group in Florida, working with 13 colorectal surgeons and 10 specialized Advanced Practice Providers. This is the only NAPRC accredited group in Central Florida and has an international reputation in MIS and trans-anal technology. This opportunity would be based at AdventHealth Orlando, a large 1,289 bed tertiary facility located just north of downtown Orlando. Work Hours/Shift: You Will Be Responsible For: - The Postdoctoral Clinical Research Fellows is a 12-month position designed to assist in the research at the AdventHealth Research Institute (FHRI) and participates in Industry/National Institute of Health (NIH)/Pharmaceutical and government sponsored and investigator-initiated research that supports the FHRI scientific research plan. Responsible for helping to develop a research program in their field area and provides guidance to other support staff in the performance of protocol specific tasks. Helps to ensure that all research performed under their direction is in compliance with all AdventHealth, FHRI, local, state, and federal laws, policies and procedures.
Qualifications
What You Will Need: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - MD and /or PhD in a scientific field such as chemistry, biology, or exercise science
- Established competency in research as evidenced by published (peer reviewed) research and/or prior work experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: -
- Proven history of NIH, Pharmaceutical and/or equivalent research
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: - Knowledge of the development and operation of clinical and basic science research protocols
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: -
- Knowledge or experience in investigator-initiated research in a clinical - research setting
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Designs, constructs and implements research proposals, protocols, and procedures, with a focus on oncology, and in support of the NCI strategy and strategic focus areas.
- Assists with the analysis of research data in collaboration with Biostatisticians and Research dept.
- Prepares scholarly manuscripts and final study reports (where applicable) to communicate results of the research to the broader scientific community
- Supervises data collection by Research core staff including but not limited Clinical Operations, Oncology (or Cancer Specific Core for the cc), etc.
- Attends and gives seminars under the direction of the Scientific Director or Senior Director.
- Participates in scientific presentations and publication of research data.
- Participates in Research grant application preparation.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Scientific Director, Senior Director, or Program Manager.
