The Senior Director IT provides leadership over multiple departments within central information technology serving VUMC-wide based needs by developing goals, objectives, policies and procedures; supervising, coordinating and evaluating the activities. The Senior Director IT oversees capital and operation expenditures, vendor negotiation and implementation of medium to long term strategies.
Develop goals and objectives for the department based on interpretation of institutional policy and goals.
Ensure the most effective operation of the department through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
Identify, establish and evaluate quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures within department.
Ensure work supports the vision and mission of the institution, including compliance with VUMC policies and regulations and any necessary documentation.
Has broad knowledge of industry developments and trends.
Supervise managers, associate directors, and/or directors, as well as high-level individual contributors.
Promote broad awareness of department goals, objectives and activities.
Establish sound working relationship and cooperative arrangement with other groups and organizations, both within and outside department.
Ensure the most effective operations of the department through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
Oversees program development and execution of programs, including large, complex IT implementations impacting organization-wide or multiple areas of VUMC.
Apply in-depth business knowledge across multiple areas of VUMC.
Serves as IT administrator on-call to coordinate 24/7 response to critical issues.
Identifies and develops leaders within teams and across organizational units.
Maintains relationships with vendors and peers at other institutions, including travel when required.
