The Business Intelligence Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities and be required to work closely with all members of the Surgical Sciences administrative team to deliver solutions and training on software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Smartsheet, ThinkCell and others. The ideal candidate will be intelligent, attentive to detail, experienced in delivering technology training to non-technical audiences, flexible and comfortable working in a large healthcare environment.
This position provides an opportunity to combine a passion for teaching with an enthusiasm for technology development to create positive customer relationships. We're looking for someone with software expertise, excellent communication skills and proven technology training experience.
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for configuring, testing, delivering solutions, and for training and supporting end-users on software and solutions utilized in the clinical and operational/business setting.
About the Department :
Vanderbilt's Section of Surgical Sciences combines many of our surgical departments at Vanderbilt into one framework with the commitment to providing the best in patient care. Our specialty teams of surgeons and researchers work closely with one another to discover and reveal the latest medical and surgical innovations, while teaching our residents the many facets of surgery. This collaboration of disciplines allows us to provide an array of conventional and unique surgical services to the entire mid-south region resulting in outstanding patient outcomes.

Analyzing workflows performed and help to redesign and automate the process and analytics used in business operations.
Meeting with faculty and staff to collect information and data required to deliver Smartsheet solutions based on the end user's needs.
Implementing technical solutions, based on faculty/staff needs and specifications, by managing, leading, and performing hands-on configuration.
Delivering end-user training for developed products including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, SmartSheet, ThinkCell, Zoom, Power BI, Tableau & OneDrive for Business.
Providing ad-hoc training and consult support "On-Demand" for end users with issues, questions regarding software tools, capabilities and functions.
Creating and maintaining a project plan for each project, detailing the tasks that need to be completed for the timely delivery of the configured solution, as well as any dependencies.
Communicating with staff and leadership throughout the implementation process to obtain feedback and approval.

Solid understanding of project management methodology

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) (Required) (Information Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred)
2 years relevant experience (Required) (3 years preferred)
Strong knowledge of US Healthcare Industry is preferred but not required
2+ years experience in software technology training, adult education, or other experience as a training specialist.
2+ years in application and/or technology support.
2+ years of hands-on experience implementing software solutions.
2+ years experience communicating technical information to non-technical customers.
Experience providing focused training for large and small groups.
Experience working independently with a strong focus on customer service.
Advanced proficiency in using applications including but not limited to: Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Smartsheet, Power BI and Tableau.
