The Periop Dispensing Coordinatorwith general direction and latitude for initiative and judgment is responsiblefor the daily dispensing of supplies and instruments required for surgicalcases for the Operating Room, and receives supervision and direction from thePerioperative Nurse Coordinators.
Below are the essential functionsof the role.
Printand organize doctor's preference cards and surgical schedule and prioritizeorder of cases for supplies and instruments; stage outside of rooms prior tosurgery in priority order and pull unscheduled/emergency cases that arise.
Separateand restock unused sterile supplies not used; ensure sterile cores are neat andorderly.
Workwith the Perioperative supply staff to ensure availability of supplies for casedispensing.
Assistthe surgical staff in the rooms with urgent requests for supplies andinstruments during surgical cases.
The ideal candidate must have theability to operate commonly used office equipment, PC, copier, fax andmulti-line phones, become a proficient operator in all assigned software anddatabase systems including but not limited to: Materials Management InformationSystem(s), GE Centricity, and PARIS, is essential for the role. The candidatemust have the ability to work independently, prioritize work, have knowledge ofPeopleSoft, Excel, and AtPar Software, verbal, organizational, interpersonal, andproblem solving skills and comfortability in responding to multiplesupervisors.
