Overview
Specific: Responsible for the area of the Radiation Therapy department. Provide direct patient care to inpatients and outpatients. Responsibility extends to maintenance of appropriate supplies, organizing and assigning therapists to daily duties, conducting of required billing audits, equipment maintenance/service and participation in JC self assessment. Works independently at remote facility in Western Sussex Community.
Responsibilities
Acts as resource person for daily operations within the department, section or unit. Very knowledgeable about the specific aspects/technical details of the job, and readily share knowledge with others. Supervises operational functions of the remote radiation therapy department related to simulation and treatments. Provides clinical leadership for staff in patient preparation and treatments in remote site. Trains new and current team members and students. Ensures that orientation and training checklists are completed. Makes sure that annual mandatory education is completed and competencies are assessed and documented. regulatory/accreditation compliance. Understand and adheres to JC standards. Adheres to federal/ state/ hospital regulatory compliance . Demonstrates consistent knowledge of hospital and/ or Department changes (I.e. policy and procedure, equipment changes, etc.) and communicates with staff. Demonstrates professional response to specific directives from Leadership. Maintains consistent communication and shares pertinent information to leadership. Ensures team members maintain departmental policies/procedures, and adhere to all quality, safety, and regulatory standards/requirements. Supports department by monitoring regulatory/accreditation compliance. Understand and adheres to JC standards. Adheres to federal/ state/ hospital regulatory compliance Provides feedback to leadership about team members' performance, including need for coaching, counseling, disciplinary action. Assists leadership in completing initial and annual performance appraisals. Participates in the interview process and provides feedback on candidates. Demonstrates supervisory leadership and commitment for physician, staff and patient satisfaction. Demonstrates ability to plan and organize work flow to maximize productivity while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction. Can assess and prioritize operational issues and urgency of situation. Ability to keep abreast of changing technology . Assists in identifying areas to improve or expand Demonstrates Clinical Competence in changing technology of the linear accelerators, simulator and Electronic medical records and assists in training staff and assists with evaluating the department's performance. Performs accurate billing and documentation audits. Ability to correctly identify problems and develop a treatment plan at conclusion of the initial evaluation. Willingness to work in multiple locations and adjust work schedule to meet department mission. Ensures regular equipment maintenance and ability to trouble shoot when necessary. Maintains adequate stock.
Qualifications
Minimum five years in a related fieldable to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively, and discretely with patients, physicians, team members, and the general public. Able to work under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience. Demonstration of creativity, initiative and problem solving. Founded in 1916 by two physician brothers, Drs. James Beebe and Richard C. Beebe, the medical center in Lewes is a 210-licensed-bed, not-for-profit seaside community hospital. Beebe's specialized service lines include cardiac and vascular, surgical services, oncology, women's health, and orthopaedic services. Beebe offers an array of inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and diagnostic services.
Beebe's five satellite campuses offer imaging, physical rehabilitation, and lab services, as well as walk-in care centers. In addition, Beebe offers Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine and Diabetes Management & Medical Nutrition Therapy.
