RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking a Southern Region Director of Surgical Oncology
RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH) and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (RCINJ) are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Southern Region Director, Surgical Oncology, RWJBH/Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Chief of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery at Monmouth Medical Center (MMC). This administrative leadership role provides oversight of clinical services, clinical research, and quality initiatives, with a focus on expanding and coordinating surgical oncology services throughout RWJBH’s Southern Region.
Position Overview: The Southern Region Director of Surgical Oncology will be responsible for strategic planning and coordination of surgical oncology services within RWJBH and affiliated facilities, with a strong emphasis on Monmouth Medical Center. This leader will play a pivotal role in aligning surgical services with the mission of RWJBH and RCINJ, while also ensuring collaboration with allied specialties including medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic planning and development of surgical oncology services across RWJBH’s Southern Region, with a focus on Monmouth Medical Center, Monmouth Southern Campus, and Community Medical Center.
Establish high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective surgical oncology services that align with the mission of RWJBH and RCINJ.
Build and maintain strong relationships with administrative and clinical leaders across the RWJBH system and Rutgers Cancer Institute.
Drive regional growth of surgical oncology services and increase market share.
Collaborate with leadership to enhance clinical research opportunities and improve educational programs.
Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams to ensure exceptional care for patients across surgical, medical, and radiation oncology services.
Ensure best practices in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care across the Southern Region hospitals.
Academic Appointment: The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment within the Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, commensurate with their experience and academic credentials.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in surgical oncology with a strong track record of clinical leadership and service expansion.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams.
A visionary leader with experience in strategic planning and implementation of surgical oncology services.
Strong commitment to clinical research and education.
